“Sasyr” Toscana IGT 2023, an iconic red from Rocca delle Macìe, one of Tuscany’s most respected and historic wine estates.

Founded in 1973 by renowned Italian film producer Italo Zingarelli and now led by the second generation of the family, Rocca delle Macìe represents the perfect balance between heritage and innovation. With over 600 hectares of vineyards across Tuscany, the estate is dedicated to crafting wines that express the true character of its terroir.

“Sasyr” is a refined blend of Sangiovese and Syrah, designed to bridge two worlds: the elegance and structure of traditional Tuscan wines and the richness and fruit-forward profile of modern styles.

Produced with carefully selected grapes harvested at an excellent state of ripeness in the Maremma area near Grosseto. The winery practices integrated viticulture, using minimal pesticides, no chemical herbicides, and only organic fertilizers.

Controlled temperature fermentation preserves the wine’s intense color and primary aromas. The Syrah portion is aged in small French oak barrels (one-third new) for about six months. The final blend then refines further in the bottle for a minimum of six months.

Very intense and complex aromas, with fruity notes of cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, followed by a spicy finish. Smooth and well-structured on the palate, with hints of tobacco, chocolate, and vanilla. The wine shows a pleasant freshness and a long, persistent aromatic finish.
